Entries to America’s most powerful car festival are open this Friday, October 24th at 5PM EST!

Summernats USA is three massive days of cruising, show cars, burnouts, drag racing, roll racing, a concert, fireworks, awards, guaranteed big prize money and more, as we combine the Freedom Factory and Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida into one giant automotive party March 12th - 14th.

Summernats is made so you can do all the things you want to do with your car… with plenty of time built in to enjoy all the other cool stuff at the festival.

Here’s a quick guide to help you enter Summernats USA.

Want to drag race, roll race, or shred tires in the burnout contest? Easy, grab the tech card for the competition you want to do the most.

Want to put your car in more than one competition? Easy, you can add on other activities when you register.

We’ve got four awesome drag racing categories for the guys who just wanna go fast – Street Car, 10.00 Index, 8.50 Index, and Roll Racing.

And there’s three tire-frying classes in the burnouts – Pro Class for the big bangers, Open Class for guys on the rise and Development Class for early day skidders.

Want to bring your car and have awesome fun cruising, show off in the car show, smash tires on skid row and the power skids, but don’t want to race or compete in the burnouts?

Easy, just grab the standard Summernats entrant pass that includes all three days of the festival including cruising, car show, skid row, and power skids.

There’s also judged awards including Top Judged Elite and Top Judged Street and an overall Summernats USA Grand Champion.

Before you ask – YES! Tech cards include driver entry and all the cool things in the standard Summernats entrant pass.

Every Summernats USA entrant gets a Freedom Sack including an entrant T-shirt, commemorative license plate, car sticker pack and driver lanyard.

Entrants and spectators have the option to camp on site at BMP or the Freedom Factory and stay right where the action is for the whole event.

This class will be split up into THREE different classes. At least one qualifying round will be done to determine the floating index for classes. Each class will have a breakout of .10 of the number 1 qualifier with the exception of Class 1 which has no breakout.

EXAMPLE: In most cases classes will be split into 8.0 and faster, 8.10 -9.0 and 9.1-9.99. If you run a slower pass you’re able to jump into the faster class if you choose. You cannot jump into a slower class though. We will do a 15 minute idle in the lanes before qualifying. You can pop your hood, add ice to tanks but cannot add fuel at any point during the idle or after before making a qualifying pass. You must also make your qualifying pass. Your vehicle must drive to and from the lanes under its own power. You cannot be towed to your pits after making a pass UNLESS you’re broke. If you break during a pass and are unable to make it back to your pit under your own power we will grant you ONE tow back to the pits to try and make the next round if you win.

Summernats USA has every right to refuse a vehicle they do not see fit the spirit of the class.

Methanol fuel type is not permitted for V8 and up vehicles. If running a 4 or 6 cylinder methanol is permitted. Methanol kits like alky control and snow performance are allowed on all vehicles.
Side windows must be able to roll up and down.
Vehicles MUST go to and from the lanes under their own power. No push vehicles before or after the pass is permitted. If you break during a pass you are allowed ONE tow back to pits per event.
Vehicle must have working cooling system like radiator, water pump in use and working.
No spindle mount front wheels
Must meet tracks safety requirements at tech in
Must complete a 15 minute idle or 25 mile cruise before qualifying

All roll racers will sign up for the same class. We will then do a qualifying pass to determine which class you fit in. Top 16 will be in the Elite class, 16-32 will be in the Sport class, 32-64 will be in the Street class.

GENERAL RULES

Working lights
Factory appearing interior. Aftermarket dashes ok but must retain factory shape and size. Seat deletes ok, any item removed due to safety for cage is also permitted.
Any transmission is permitted
Factory frame rails required. No tube chassis.

Cross the center line, you’re out
40-50 mph start at light tree (in eliminations a clean start takes priority over entry speed example: both cars come in side by side at 55mph and leave together, this is a clean race decided by the starter/spotter)
Race ends at 1/4 mile marker
Win lights will be shown to determine winner
All drivers will be required to wear a SA2015+ helmet.
All drivers will be required to wear an SFI approved fire jacket.
All drivers must wear close toed shoes and long pants.
All vehicles with a trap speed of 165 MPH or higher will be required to have a five-point harness and parachute.

BURNOUTS - PRO CLASS

Requirements for ALL Burnout Contestants

SAFETY
- Helmet required. a minimum of a SNELL 2015 or better helmet.
- Neck Collar required.
- Fire suit required- SFI 3.2A/5 minimum.
- Seat belts/ harness required.
- Recommend fire retardant shoes, gloves, and head sock. Shoes must be closed toe.
- Firewall must be complete and without holes into the driver compartment.
- Scatter-shields required on supercharged entries using clutch. Ballistic transmission protection is required.
- Fireworks not permitted.
ENGINE
- Hot fluids must be contained under the hood or provisions must be made to contain hot fluid/ steam.
- No Nitromethane.
- No externally mounted Nitrous bottles.
- Two bolts must be placed in the exhaust pipe in a cross pattern within one inch of each other as close to turbo as is practical. Email events@fffl.com for special exceptions.
BATTERY
- Battery Disconnect Switch must be installed on all vehicles within easy reach for officials.
- Battery must be secured.
BODY
- Hatches, tailgate, wings, etc. must have additional tether.
WHEELS & TIRES
- No hubcaps/ wheel trim or wheel weights permitted.
- Wheels must be steel.
COMPETITION
- Burnout shall not begin until instructed by an event official.
- No standing burnouts, vehicle shall maintain movement.
- Driver must stop immediately if instructed by event staff.
- No passengers allowed in Open Class. Pro and Rivals Classes are allowed 1 passenger.. The passenger must have all proper safety equipment just like the driver.
- Burnouts will be judged and limited to two minutes!
- Judging will be based upon- Instant smoke, constant smoke, volume of smoke, driving skill and use of the entire skid pad.
- Point deductions for wall contact resulting in damage or alteration to the pad layout.
- Any vehicle backing up will result in an automatic disqualification.
